A light meal that is comforting with fresh easy-to-find ingredients. Salmon and Shrimp Pasta has broccoli, seafood and just enough cream to make you feel amazingly luxurious.

Ingredients
5ouncesbroccolicut in florets
4ouncespastashape of your choice
1tablespoon olive oil
1shallotfinely chopped
1teaspoongarlic paste (NOTE 1)
4ouncessalmon
4ouncesshrimppeeled and deveined
1/2cupcream
1/4cupParmigiano Reggiano cheesegrated
1tablespoonlemon juice
salt & pepper
2tablespoonsparsleyfinely chopped
Instructions
Cook the pasta according to the directions on the packaging. Add the broccoli florets the last 3 minutes.
Drain and reserve some pasta water.
Heat oil in a skillet and add finely chopped shallot and saute until translucent or caramelized. (NOTE 2)
Season shrimp and salmon with salt & pepper and add to the skillet. Cook until seafood is done and let rest.
Add cream to skillet, as well as cheese, stir until cheese is melted in cream.
Add pasta and broccoli and stir until coated.
Add a squeeze of lemon juice and salt & pepper to taste.
Break salmon into pieces and add to pasta, together with shrimp. Mix carefully. Add some pasta water is mixture is too thick.
Plate and sprinkle with finely chopped parsley.
Notes
1 teaspoon of garlic paste can be replace by 1 clove of garlic.
I have a personal preference for caramelized onions as they add a little bit more flavor and crunch. They also add a color of brown specks to the dish.
